Agreement
By using ReadyCiv you agree to these terms, a contract between you and Skill5 Inc., a Delaware corporation, United States. If you are setting up a programme for an agency, a municipality or an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf. The app shows the same terms at app.readyciv.com/legal/readyciv/terms.
The service
ReadyCiv provides short interactive lessons on household and community preparedness, with progress tracking and, for programmes, a dashboard for the person who runs the programme. We may add, change or remove lessons and features to keep the service useful. Five tracks are free; the rest requires a paid plan.
What the lessons are, and are not
Lessons are general preparedness guidance at the level of public civil-defence advice. They are not instructions for a specific event. During an emergency, follow the instructions of your local authorities and emergency services; where a lesson and an official instruction differ, the official instruction applies. First aid lessons do not replace certified training or professional medical care.
Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping access to the email address attached to it. Do not share your login. You may delete your account at any time from the app or through our account deletion page.
Subscriptions and payment
Prices are shown before you buy. A subscription renews at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Bought on the web: the sale is made by Paddle, our merchant of record, which charges you, issues the invoice and handles payment under its own terms. Manage or cancel the subscription from the link in your Paddle receipt or from the web app.
- Bought in the app: the sale is made by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Manage or cancel the subscription in your store account settings.
A programme is priced per seat and billed yearly. The person who sets it up gets an invite link and a dashboard; seats are taken by whoever joins through the link. Seats can be added at any time and are billed for the remainder of the period.

Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no unauthorised access, scraping, reselling, sharing of accounts beyond your plan, or interfering with other learners. Programme leads may not use the dashboard to monitor anything other than learning progress. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Content
Lessons, quizzes, illustrations and everything else in the service belong to Skill5 Inc. or its licensors and are licensed to you for personal learning, or for the people in your programme. You may not copy, redistribute or resell them.
Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the liability of Skill5 Inc. to you is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep any protection the law of your own country gives you.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect; continued use after that means you accept the new terms.
